is there a computer expert in the house??
I have a dual core i3 Intel processor. However, when I go to Windows task manager, I can see 4 graphs for the CPU usage history. Does this mean that's there is a quad core in there???
I know that AMD sometimes uses Quad cores in their Dual core processors, but I didn't know that Intel did it. Or is there some other explanation.
Also.....
I took out my motherboard recently and then reassembled everything. When I restarted the computer, it would not recognise the video card. I am having to use the video output from the motherboard. The video card was working before but now it's not! The system has had problems recognising the gtraphics card before. I don't know what o think or do???
argghhhhhhhhh....

I shall see if I can get Eric over to answer...my mate spazmosis is a geek too, but as it's 5 am Saturday here in upsidedownland and I am the only fucker mad enough to be awake (insomnia's a blessing innit?) I dont think he'll be available for a while yet.
I reckon Pete's a bit savvy too btw and Hare if she's about is quite clever.

Maybe it's something like update the BIOS.... but I was looking through the ASUS forums reading all kind of horror stories of computers that just ceased up and died when the BIOS was udated

I don't know shit about computers other than adding memory cards. As a result I am of zero help here other than to suggest not taking your computer apart next time as you don't seem to know how to put it back together properly..... Sorry but you kind of asked for it yanno?

But you do however appear to have broken your computer. Just sayin'.

What was the reason for taking out the motherboard? Did you remove the video card and then replace it? If so maybe one of the pins got bent. Could be that the video card slot burnt out as well.
I assume you've made sure that you have up to date drivers for the card? Flashing the BIOS would be a last resort, because as you've read it can kill the motherboard if done incorrectly.

No computers are not generally take apartable, however I applaud your new word. So with that concept, I can remove my kitchen from my modular house and not have any issues? Yeah I'm still laughing. See I don't take my shit apart and I never really seem to have that many issues with it. You take shit apart and 9.9 times out of 10 there is a part that never makes it back in. You've probably got some loose chip or screw rolling around on the floor hiding from you.

What was the reason for taking out the motherboard? . You don't know Ayez as we do. So this seemingly innocuous question from you is forgiveable. However: Never ask the reason - it will have something to do with aliens who killed MJ being responsible for radioactive tooth decay in diseased cattle who are members of the Illuminati and invented something amazingly new- And he will explain that to you - at great length - and it'll get ugly. kkthankxbi

Did you strip it to check for tiny aliens lurking behind the RAM?

Did you strip it to check for tiny aliens lurking behind the RAM? Don't be fucking stupid Pete. The ram is in Scotland, cowering in fear of once more becoming the reluctant object of the Duck's sick desires.
