Sorry,sorry. You're right,they're more commonly called American buffalo,but in my defence,two common names for the same animal. Actually,upon reflection,the term "buffalo" may be considered a misnomer for this animal,it is only distantly related to either of the two "true buffalo",the Asian water buffalo and the African buffalo. The American bison is more closely related to the wisent or European bison. Since it's binomial name is Bison bison,I'm going to stick with American bison. Ooookay then! You do that. But, round these parts we call em buffalo.

We've always called them buffalo. I don't know how many are left after the earley Americans slaughtered them almost to extinction.I'm not talking about native Americans, we knew better than to kill everything in sight.

Enough left to supply a few of us if we were careful and migrated with the buffalo. It might be good to revert to the old ways. I can start a fire with stickes and use a buffalo entirely. My grandmother taught me. I'm a little rusty, but bet I could remember pretty fast.
