So "sucks to Beastie" and his insistence that wasps are useless creatures, huh?
He's just ashamed to admit that like most typical Englishmen, he's wildly afraid of anything that has more than four legs!

I'm not afraid os wasps. I am a little nervous of bees, as I had a shocking allergic reaction to a sting when I was about 4. I remember a searing pain and the feeling of my throat closing over and then nothing till I woke up lying on the table in the doctor's office which luckily was 5 houses from our own, with a needle being pulled out of my arm.
Anaphylactic shock they call it - and my mother hysterical n the background which was what frightened me most.
Now I believe that you can outgrow that allergy and I may well have done. I have never risked being stung again to check, as I no longer live 5 doors from a doctor and anyway am a bit too big for anyone to carry now. We get bees here quite often and I have a tendency to freeze in place till they decide to leave - the buggers seem peculiarly attracted to me...if there are 5 people in the room I will be the one they land on.
;D
But as they don't sting till you threaten them, doing nowt is the best bet.
