Ideas That Matter. P.518
Cannot the mouse analogy be extended to fruit and veg? Although putrification isn't as rapid as in meat,as soon as fruit and veg etc is harvested, according to Grayling's own logic,it has begun to rot.

My veggies(I'll never look at them the same)! I can live without meat, but I need my veggies.

Beef carcasses are hung for around two weeks before they're even butchered.

Are they not refrigerated or frozen? Sometimes?

Are they not refrigerated or frozen? Sometimes? Not until after they have aged. They are not hung in extreme heat, but they are also not refrigerated. that would retard the bacterial activity too much. We have to remember, there millions of "good bacteria". In fact, most bacteria are beneficial. The only way to remove the gamey toughness of wild meat is to drain the blood by hanging and giving bacteria time to break down the muscle a bit.
