Awesome thy name was Frank. A composer is a guy who goes around forcing his will on unsuspecting air molecules, often with the assistance of unsuspecting musicians. Frank Zappa So young: The first Zappa tune I ever heard:I was 13. Music is always a commentary on society. Frank Zappa On Hollywood and Scientology: I never set out to be weird. It was always other people who called me weird. Frank Zappa Part I: Part II: If you want to get laid, go to college. If you want an education, go to the library. Frank Zappa And his last words to us: It isn't necessary to imagine the world ending in fire or ice. There are two other possibilities: one is paperwork, and the other is nostalgia. Frank Zappa Most rock journalism is people who can't write, interviewing people who can't talk, for people who can't read. Frank Zappa

Saw him live with the Mothers in 1969... pretty impressive! The Mothers were my Introduction to Frank. My older sister, normally someone whose taste in music was limited to Gary Glitter and Neil Diamond, for some inexplicable reason bought Billy The Mountain, played it once and hated it. I rarely had it off the old HMV mono turntable which was all mum and dad had. The first time I took it to a mate's place and heard it in stereo I nearly lost my mind and saved every penny of pocket money till I had $100 and bought a sweet little three in one unit from the older brother of my best friend.
