One of my mates has given me his PS3,says he doesn't use it of late.
The thing is,he had it hooked up to a HD tv. When I hook it up to my regular non HD tv using a regular playstation scairt thing I get no picture.
Is there any way of making it regular tv compatible?
NB; I can't hit it with a hammer as he'll want it back when God Of War Asscension hits the shelves.

What type of cords are you using? Is your TV on the correct input?

Actually, I don't think a PS3 will work on anything other than an HD TV.
However, you can use a computer monitor to play on.

Problem solved,the solution was elegant in its simplicity,I merely had to keep my finger on the on button while the PS3 was in standby until I heard a beep.

It may be a mute issue.
From what I hear Sony is in the same boat as RIM. If they can't get it togeather soon both will be out of business and the PS3 will go the way of the Texas Instraments Invedio game/computer.

I used to play munch man on my TI it was awesome. I wrtoe the code for Othello/Reversi, put it on a cassette tape LOL. It was my summer assignment. When it worked I got my own TV in my room.
I have refused to give a penny to Sony since the PS3 did not play all of the existing games automatically. When the downloads and other bs didn't work on some of the boys favorite games we went xBox and never looked back.

We have 3 XBox 360's around here, I think that says a little something about which is the better system. These boys have tried every system out there.

Sony basically cut their own throats back in the days of Bata and VHS video. They created both systems, but as Bata was the better system, they decided to license out VHS and make a few bucks on the deal.
Problem....they licensed so many other manufacturing companies that they were unable to beat the price and marketing war.
They keep repeating basic errors in marketing and manufacturing.
It's really amazing they've lasted as long as they have.

I don't really care about the politics of the whole thing,I just can't use the Xbox360 control pad with my mangled thumb. I've tried,gods have I tried,because there are games availabe for the Xbox that aren't available for the Playstation3.
Gears Of War(trilogy) spirngs instantly to mind...although the same can be said for vice versa with God Of War(trilogy). {I wonder can a conspiracy theory be forwarded about the fact that the iniitials are Identical}
