Lots of wrongly attributed inventions over the years. In fact this is a site which gives a third option for the inventor of X-Rays - one Wilhelm Röntgen (Don't Krauts have the best names?). listverse.com/2009/04/10/top-10-wrongly-attributed-inventions/The thing about Tesla was that unlike Edison who was massively ambitious, seeking fame and riches for his "advances" Tesla was a classic science geek - in it for the intrinsic satisfaction he gained from knowing he had contributed much to growth in the communal knowledge pool. He didn't like Edison much, but as you can see, they had long-standing issues and Edison kind of persecuted Tesla at every opportunity so you can understand why that was.

Tesla was quite prolific for a bone fide voice hearing schizophrenic. Where Edison used to pinch other people's work and patent it, Tesla really did invent shit. He invented a way for electricity to be delivered wirelessly. He designed the first Hydro-electric power station at Niagra falls. (While he was in Prison) There's strong evidence to suggest that the research missing from his notes after he died, was acquired by the Russians, who stuffed it up at Tunguska.

He invented the polyphase squirrel cage motor, fluorescent lights, bladeless turbine, as well as championing the use of Alternating Current for general purpose electrical applications. He invented the 20th century...

The Tesla coil is direct current, not alternating.

The Tesla coil is direct current, not alternating. It will work with either, but works better with AC because of it's current limiting attributes...
