I haven't been able to stand the guy for 15-20 years now...not only did he diss Clint Black, but he ripped off Chris Ledoux(RIP): Not that I care about country music, mind you, I've been off country since 2006 and what happened with the Dixie Chicks, but I just felt that I can't be the only person who thinks he's a Big Fat Jerk!

Yeah, we really miss the Chicks. Terri was a friend of Chris, he was one hell of a man.

I don't know who any of them are - so I can't comment. Anything after about 1972 in country and I lost interest. Kenny Rogers has a lot to answer for if you ask me!! This one looks like he gave a good yee-haw knees up though. Nice arse too btw.

And the Dixi Chicks ought to have moved to Connecticut: They'd have made friends there.

I like some of Garth's music but I'm far from a fan. However the Dixie Chicks worked every freaking nerve I had. The whining dear god.
Personally country went to shit when it went "mainstream".
I mean seriously, compare say Tammy Wynette to Taylor Swift. Ther is no comparison, one sang country and one sings pop with a bit of a twang which you really don't hear all too much.

I've never understood people getting caught up with the actual personality, viewpoint or whatever of a singer, artist, musician, etc.
I couldn't care less what they think of politics or if they believe the world should blow up tomorrow. Do they have good music (to me)? Yes, then I'll listen to it. No, then I don't.
Like the Dixie Chicks thing, or way back with the Beatles. People liked listening to their music up until something was said and then it's all "I hate them. I'll never listen to them again. How dare you like their stuff??"
I just don't get it.

Well everyone is entitled to choose the musical artists they want to listen too by whatever criteria they choose.
I personally grow sick of seeing people on the cover of every gossip rag and tv show to the point that I just get sick of them period.
Then there are those that make moral decisions I find to be deplorable and that might lead me to not bother buying their music anymore.
Or it may just be that they appear in public as crappy human beings. That too will turn me off.
All of this has nothing to do with whether or not they can carry a tune or recorded a song I like.
I don't like Taylor Swift, just for general purposes as I don't feel she is truly a country singer. She's a pop singer that couldn't make it if she went head to head against the likes of J-Lo or Beyonce. However, I do like her "Mean" song. It's brain worm music but it's not too bad.
That's the wonderful thing about personal choices in art of any form. I don't have to have a reason to like or not like something, I can just like or not like it for whatever reason I want and it's no one's worry except mine.

Now they tend to sound like cats mating in an alleyway behind a saloon.

This is a quite intersting Indie folk /country crossover girl from here Missy Higgins. The Special Two - she's like the old country queens with a very aussie contemporary edge to her. Hatter will like this I know he will...and Kelly will too
