Before you install the previous version (12.3) you MUST get rid of (uninstall) the version that is currently installed on your machine.

Just to make sure, because it sounds like it's installed correctly, if you hit the start orb>all programs>catalyst control centre>there should be an icon which looks like an atom with a red nucleus. Is that there? That's the shortcut to launch the application. If it's not there, go to the Catalyst Install Manager listing in Programs and features (in control panel) double click it and follow the prompts to completely 'express' uninstall all AMD software (unless you have some that you want to keep), then download a previous version support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/previous/Pages/radeonaiw_vista32.aspxAnd install that. I've never had this problem. Seems like a strange one. Dinner time here. Gotta bail for now.

Ok I will leave this for when you get back, but there isn't even a Catalyst Control Centre thing in my All Programs.

Here's what i would do: Control Panel> Programs and Features> double click AMD Catalyst Install Manager. choose the uninstall manager. Choose express. That should uninstall all AMD software. That's what you want. Restart if prompted to do that. Bear in mind that the display will look shit after it's done uninstalling. It's meant to be shit. It's using Windows generic drivers instead of the proper ones. But Windows generic drivers are enough to give you enough video to see what you're doing. Now download the Catalyst Software Suite (118MB) from here support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/previous/12/Pages/radeon.aspx?os=Windows%20Vista%20-%2032-Bit%20Edition&rev=12.3 and save the file to the desktop Once that's done, simply double click the file, which will look like a green AMD logo, hit run, and then hit install. That should install everything, CCC, Drivers, everything. The screen will flicker a bit or turn black for a few seconds. That's normal. Once that install is finished you'll most likely need to restart to complete the installation. When you restart, if the video still looks shit, go ahead and change the resolution to your desired setting. It should look decent after that. Now hit the start orb, all programs, catalyst control centre folder, and inside that should be the icon to start CCC. If it's there, click and drag it to your desktop. Use that to open the program. If it's not there i'm really don't know what to tell ya. If it wasn't there after all that i'd probably try even a different version again but i don;t know what else you could do. I wish you well sir. Lets me know if it works.

It Still didn't work I searched it up again and it seems to be a major problem. From reading these the other guys encountering this problem have said that it seems it install everything but CCC. HOWEVER one guy got v10.12 running so I'll try that. Anyhow, Thank you very much both of you.

What's the problem you're having with the game in question and what's the game?

What's the problem you're having with the game in question and what's the game? Doom 3, the screen resolution goes way off the screen. I tried console commands but they did nothing, then I was told to use Catalyst Command Centre to turn off ATI AI Catalyst and that would fix the problem.

That was huge when it came out. A lot of people, including me, upgraded their computers so they could play Doom 3 at maximum graphics. I remember spending about $600 on a top notch video card (at the time) which was a Radeon X800 Pro........of course, the card i have now is roughly 25 times more powerful than that little beast of a card but it served me well. I really hope you can fix the problem. Doom 3 is so worth the hassle. How'd you get on with v10.12 ?
