I am trying to teach myself to play the Native American flute. The breathing part is a bitch.

I can play a little piano but am very out of practice. I need to plug in my keyboard again sometime soon.

I can play piano, flute, clarinet and saxophone.
I can play well... piano these days. Haven't played the others since college.

that is such a Yank idea! duh! "The piano diet"
I tried everything but then I discovered the Mad Hatter Piano Diet. I used to binge on accordians and would snack on harmonicas all day long. Now I just eat the frickin Steinberg. You should see my piano stools.

I played the guitar for a time when I was younger, but I had to give it up. I was subjected to a range of appalling pressures, all stemming from the fact that I could no longer bear to listen to myself practice!

Apart from the ones in my ears,I haven't got a musical bone in my body,I was banned from learning to play the recorder in school for humanitarian reasons.

Invested years of effort into learning the piano and I am still crap. Used to drive the neighbours mad in London with my practising, and now I am free to make as much noise as I want, I don't play at all. The main reason I got this computer was to do some music, but that is an ever-receding goal, like the novel I am never going to write. My keyboard, mouse and breakfast rest on an electric piano connected to Mac Garage Band, but I spend all my time blethering on forums like this.
Can play a few chords on guitar, and I am good at hypnotising people with ultra-simple bass guitar (I've got a lovely old Fender Precision that I have had since the 70s.) Played in a samba percussion band for a while in Scotland before it fell apart. Playing guitar, bass & percussion as a beginner made me realise that what i really want is an instrument that isn't hard work, but is as natural, unconscious and sensual as tapping your feet or drumming on the arms of the sofa.
Sorry to be so negative this morning.

Whilst not wish to cause a split along ecumenical lines I'd to disassociate myself from all declarations of affection for said mangy cantankerous water foul.
