Only a month into hurricane season and we are on our 3rd named storm! Chantal is still a bit off but Florida will being feeling it by this weekend. Supposed to be either a very weak tropical storm or a just a low pressure by the time it gets here, but with it a week out you never know if it will strengthen.
And to think there typically isn't a third named storm until August. Gonna be quite an active year.

news.yahoo.com/more-major-hurricanes-coming-century-191110212.html Strong hurricanes could hit Asia and the U.S. East Coast more often this century, a new study finds. The research adds to a growing body of evidence that hurricanes are becoming more intense as global warming heats the oceans. This means Category 1, 2 and 3 storms will have fiercer winds, bumping them up to Category 3, 4 and higher. Overall, the study's modeling approach predicts a 40 percent global increase in tropical cyclones of Category 3 and higher during the 21st century.

We've had rain for almost 2 weeks here. I grew up on the Gulf coast of Florida and now I live further inland in Georgia.

Tropical Storm Dorian is next up for the storm count. It's way off in the Atlantic right now, but the 5 day projection is saying it will keep it's strength. And should be around Puerto Rico by then.

We were in Germany last month, and my husband says, "If it were raining like this back home, they'd call it 'STORMWATCH 2013!'" There, in Yurp, they call it a "light rain"...

Next big rain, I'll have to take pictures of the 2 local rivers that usually rise. A few months ago (during the school year), it rained for at least 3 days (I even had an interview during one of those days, went , and STILL didn't get the job!), and the river got so high that the parking lot for boating was under water and there was water on either side of the road for about a mile away. They canceled school during one of those days because of the rain. Our yard usually becomes like a lake with a heavy rain. It's been 2-3 days since our last rain storm (it did rain kinda heavy last night), so I think the rivers have receded a bit.
