I'm no fan of Kidman myself, but The Others was an alright movie as far as non blood and guts horrors go.
Some of those photographs are haunting in themselves, even to a philosophical naturalist such as I.

I found them very moving, the heartache apparent in some of them speaks to the mother in me.

They just look like regular old time pictures to me. I wouldn't be able to tell you the dead from the living in them (or even would know that some were dead if I hadn't been told).
People just looked bored, tired or just like they don't want to be there.

I've seen pics like that before. There's also a page called findadeath.com that gives info about celeb deaths.

That was disturbing. But when death is such an everyday part of your culture, you do things differently than when it's just not. Interesting how the "death parlor" or "death room" became the "living room" after the turn of the century. The linguist in me loves knowing that information, as creepy as it suddenly makes me feel knowing how it came about.

It makes me re-think all of the portraits hanging up in Cracker Barrel......especially the one of the woman (I think) with what looks like a black eye.

Ok that is just fucking freaky. I have goose bumps. I know, right? The pain in some of the living people is so apparent, so sad, very moving.
