It's amazing how someone can be such a pain and assume I'm a bad parent based on a 2 second incident. We were getting out of the pool, I figured since my daughter was dragging her feet about getting out, that I had a few minutes to get to the towel and dry off a little. Nope, she decided to get out too and apparently wasn't paying attention or going a little too fast ad slipped on the wet concrete. I had already reached the chair and heard her say sorry. Turned around and she was sitting on the ground, rubbing her head. Some lady was just passing by and stopped as I approached (we're talking about less than 10 feet). I heard her say, "hello sweetie" and I got to her and asked if she was okay. I walked her to the chairs to be able to REALLY look at her and dry her off. As I walked off, the lady said something like "thanks mom". REALLY?? Come on, it's not like I took the kid and threw her into the deep end of the pool with nothing but a swimsuit on and left. I wasn't abandoning her. She had arm floaties AND a swim ring. My dad has already told me not to let the "old bag" get to me. I know, accidents happen and she's fine. This child is a tank.....ask anyone that knows her or works at Sonny's or Rodeo.....you KNOW she's hurt when she starts crying, she wasn't. But I saw the lady talking to some others by the exit of the pool area and I'm pretty sure she was telling them how horrible of a parent I am. The lady that was sitting next to us reassured me and my daughter even admitted to my dad that she slipped because she was going too fast. She's 6!! Not an infant.....I mean she gets dressed by herself and sometimes goes to the potty at restaurants alone. Not often, but sometimes. Done ranting now.
Pretty sure I was going to have to kick her butt. I was WAITING for her to say something......
