Two states voted for marriage equality.
Two states voted for legal recreational pot.
Another state legalized medical pot.
Puerto Rico voted to become a state.
GMO labeling was defeated in California.
Not one of the GOP rape mongers was voted in.
Dems retained control of the Senate and GOP retained control of the house.
Obama was re-elected.
Great gains for civil rights, but not much else changed.

Florida actually rejected the abortion limitation amendment, so that was a good thing too. I also learned not to ever, ever bring up politics with family. I love them dearly but some of their ideas

No one really wins anything in an election. It's just objections settled by a vote.

Hey, I'm actually glad for the tax increase here in CA. You know why? Because closing down libraries, parks and schools sucks ass. And it's temporary. OR SO THEY SAY.
Anyway, boo on the death penalty one not passing, but yay for the 3 strikes modification. That should have happened a long, long, LONG time ago.

What-who-huh? And we have been sacrificing. Since the early 2000's. Of course, it came out this year (and this undermined the support for Prop 30 to a large degree--to those who cared, anyway) that the Parks Dept at the state was hording cash galore out of payroll. They've since been ordered to divulge how much they are holding back, and to put it in the budget. After all that tailwagging after the folks to give it up for the nonprofits set to gather up cash to make up the difference, too. And threats of closing the parks, cutting staff and selling them off to private bidders as well. Dumb. Anyway, I'd be happier to see class size reduction come back, but as it is, we have to settle for a longer school calendar. Without Prop 30 passing, we were looking at further reductions to the school calendar--probably up to 2 weeks' worth.
