Just to make you guys feel younger, I prefer games such as Quake, Doom, Half Life and Unreal to the shit they put out these days. Call of Duty makes me sick to the stomach.

I always liked running up to the "ogre" in Quake 2 and blasting him in the face with a shot gun just as he was turning round to see me!
And Populous was a great little game too, even if it is about 15 years old now.

When you say Unreal, are you referring to Unreal Tournament?? I used to like Doom. It was groundbreaking. Wolfenstein was great too. Blasting shotgun pellets into the belly of a German screaming out some shit in German, probably calling me a motherfucker....FUN FUN FUN!!!

I cut my gaming teeth on a commodore 64,graduated to a Sega Master System, then Megadrive and finally Playstation 1,2 and 3. I never got into PC games 'till they started releasing console versions.
Once Streetfighter 2 came out on Snes and then Megadrive I've had at least one incarnation on every game system I owned.

The last video game I played well was Centipede and that was only on a stand alone in a game room. Since then I have sucked massively at just about every game they've come up with. I just can't make my fingers work with the controllers.

I think the last two home games I played were Pong and Atari Duck Shoot. The only arcade game I got into was Space Invaders. Funny because I just built a gaming computer with an AMD FX-8150 8 core, ASUS Sabertooth X-79 TUF board, 160 SSHD, 2tera of SATAIII, 12G's of RAM, twin 550 GeForces and a 42" LG 3D TV. I got sick of buying a new puter every couple years and figured I can get 6-8 years out of this setup with minor upgrades. I don't even own any games or a joystick. I've thought about getting into gaming for the simple reason I want to hack a Kinect as a mouse. Plus I think using my left hand more on the joystick and Kinect would be good therapy for my brain damage.
Do you or anyone else have any game and controller suggestions for a beginner with a big puter.?

I like pinball machines, if it's at all relevant.
Which it isn't.

The K I D also assures me Skyrim is a chick magnet because "chicks love dragons".

Nah - Asteroids is old school, tried it in it's day and it never hooked me.
I've spent ten times more hours playing pinball than I ever did video games.
I'm thinking of new games and games that let me compete on-line with one of you guys or all of you.
Is Skyrim for multiple players?
What's proper game etiquette, buy or bootleg? Will Xbox controllers work with my PC, or do I need to get one designated for a PC?
