Hey everyone, I was thinking of starting an Internet radio station. I have about 2000 songs on my computer of all different genres. I know I need some kind of broadcaster, but I would like to know which one is best and if it will cost money. Thanks in advance.

Isis does not have an account here but she has done some research on this topic. She will tell you about what she knows in the following post.

Herro ^_^ okidoki so if you want to start a radio station I know a little about this. theres this thingy called SAMbroadcaster, thats gonna cost you around like, $300? well luckily for you I can get it cheaply so message me okidoki? once you set that up you will be able to broadcast through the program. as for setting up the website I know little about this.. however I know that some websites linked through the abc website have some very good explanations. it all got a little technical for me, anyways. this website might help you with the basics of it (DON'T HATE ON ROLLERCOASTER!) ---> www.abc.net.au/rollercoaster/click/features/podcasts/default.htmso enjoy and if you do set up one of these, Im totally available to dj for you ^_^

Sounds like an awesome project, but isn't there licensing costs involved? I seem to remember a few years ago that there was some kind of royalty renegotiation that threatened to drive the little guys off Unless you focus on stuff that hasn't been signed on to labels yet

Like some recordings of my mates band, they're pretty good quality for demos too.
