When mum and dad phone me they always ask " how is Pen(Moley)?" I reply "she's just sitting here in her dressing gown playing on the computer". I am now informed that this is an unsatisfactory response and that I should somehow manipulate the truth in such a way as to give my parents the impression of a diligent and hard working spouse who does gardening, car cleaning, house painting and so on.
I need to come up with a suitable bit of double speak that satisfies all conditions. I did think that "She's in a planning meeting with her dressing gown" might have done the job but it didn't make it past the reclined planning committee.

I'm sure they'll be more than happy to let their baser urges draw the seedier type of conclusion. The ones that will justify what has obviously been their long held vision of her as an immoral little slapper not good enough for "their lad" .
