Your Gran's tea sounds lethal Julia I've used similar for colds before not fresh as that though just Twinnings. They say avoid citrus and caffeine if you have RA but the pineapple is good because of the protein called Bromelain innit

Fresh pineapple is also really good for mouth ulcers. Stings like fuck but it clears them up a treat. Better than salt even.

I eat fresh pineapple 4-5 times a week. It helps with my joints staying loose and theswelling is markedly reduced when I eat it regularly. I limit my caffiene but citrus I've not heard. I don't know that I could live without citrus

It's the citric acid is supposed to inflame joints. Night shade veg are supposed to be bad too but that's appalling to think of - a diet without capsicum, tomatoes, eggplant or potatoes...wtf would you EAT?
Red meat they say too....damn. But oily fish is really good for you so that's one consolation I guess.

I don't eat red meat often, don't miss it. Life without tomatos would not be worth living.

Hmmmm,I'm a mostly carnivorous omnivore,generally speaking I eat meat,fish and certain tubers.
Am I the only one that survives on one meal a day? I don't do brekkie or lunch, just dinner.

Often we only eat one meal a day. The exceptions are when I make fried egg, ham and cheese sammichs for breakfast.

I'm shocking for that myself but I always make sure the kids eat three a day. They get a cooked breakfast every morning. I don't believe in cereal...it's sugar on sugar and then they put sugar on it. A bit of bacon and an egg is a good start to the day for a teenager. I know in my area all the kids who are obese seem to start the day on no brekkie or Fruit Loops and Cocoa Pops.
Packaged muesli is shit too. It's only healthy if you make it from scratch and that's yummy but v expensive when there's only one of me that eats it. I love porridge too but they wont touch it - the fussy buggers.
ETA: PawPaw has the same benefits as pineapple and is also amazingly good for any kind of skin rash or excema. Eat it or apply it directly to the skin.

They say avoid citrus and caffeine if you have RA but the pineapple is good because of the protein called Bromelain innit It really works. You can feel it burning the bad out. I love it. One of the best things about being ill.

''it's sugar on sugar and then they put sugar on it''
These days it's sugar on sugar coated in chocolate and then they put sugar on it.
Chocolate weetabix Chocolate rice krispies Chocolate corn flakes Chocolate chip shredded wheat The list is endless

The army who left them in a pile there, knew they would, because the boys were too lazy to go look for proper food as part of their survival course. Funny how the thing that can hurt you can cure also cure you, in small doses, homeopathically speaking.
