Oh I wasn't speaking of anything specific BB. Just for when Hatter is out and about on his adventure. It's all good. I just don't want to set a bad example to the children.

Back to the topic at last...
Blaise Pascal of Pascals wager fame invented the first roulette wheel when trying to design a perpetual motion machine.

Julius Caesar didn't invent Caesar Salad (that was some dude in California) but he did invent the comb-over.

@bump
A flea's back legs are incredibly powerful. In fact, If a human being had legs as powerful as those of a flea, we would all be able to leap over the Eiffel Tower.
The single technological advance which has been responsible for the eradication of most fleas in the human environment is - the vacuum cleaner.
Flea circuses were amazingly popular in both Europe and The Americas in the 1920's and 1930's. They were actual fleas, harnessed to various bits of equipment with tiny wires. The strong back legs of the fleas allowed them, thus yolked to pull and/or push incredible amounts of weight in relation to their own body mass.
Basically the poor buggers were tortured. They were glued to various things - small musical instruments, toy trikes, toy trains and cars, wheel barrows etc. Then the operator would heat the underparts of the containers these props were set in. The flea's pain responses triggered frantic attempts to free themselves and to the observers it looked as if they were playing the instruments or peddling the trikes and pulling wagons.
The audience members were provided with magnifying glasses to allow them to see clearly what the insects were doing.
The low overheads of putting on such shows was very attractive to the cash strapped depression plagued world showbiz entrepreneurs and provided hours of fun and amusement for the impoverished public at a fraction of the price other live entertainment would have cost.
How did they build these flea circuses? Well - they had to start from scratch, didn't they??

It is a gross misapprehension that American school students are taught little of geography and geopolitics. I offer as evidence to the contrary, this widely used educational resource from the Kentucky Public School Curriculum: (I'm on fucking fire tonight, folks!)

That's actually a pretty informative map. I doubt many current US high school graduates would know that much.
