Florida the place of my dreams. I grew up in Altamonte Springs, can't be afraid of hurricanes in Florida. They are the best excuse for a party.

I lived on the Florida Panhandle, the "Redneck Riviera," for six years. I only left in December 2010.
My ex used to sit in a lawn chair under the eves of the house and WATCH hurricanes.
Of course, -I- take the cake, but it was by accident. I ran out for cigarettes to a nearby store. Every side street I turned down on the way back, there was a pile of lumber and overturned cars. I couldn't figure out what the hell was going on. Took me half an hour to finally get back.
When I got back to the house, my ex and her son were shiverring with fear. "We thought the tornado got you!" A waterspout had come inland off the water and had turned into a full-sized tornado.
Looking over the town map later, I realized that I had circled around an actual fucking tornado twice during my delayed return home.
Fortune smiles on us poor fools.

Someday I hope to see this beautiful Florida people talk about. I've lived here my whole life and yet to find anything beautiful.

Oh I loved Naples. It was absolutely gorgeous there and I miss it every day.
There are some really crappy places in Florida. Immokalee comes to mind. Miami Lakes these days.
Nothing will ever change the weather benefits. I don't care about a hurricanes, they're a given, but I sure as hell appreciated the no snow.

I've been to Tampa, Orlando, Sebring and Zephyrhills. Think I might've been to St. Pete once on a field trip for school.
Yeah, I don't get around much.
I'd love to see snow. I'm tired of the heat here.

The best thing about Florida was the bass fishing.
And sex on the beach.

You have to be careful when in Key West exactly where you perform sex on the beach, the parameters of the Navy base there are a bit vague.... Not that I would know anything about that.......... Because it wasn't me and that is my story and I am sticking to it.

So far, I've not had sex on the beach anywhere in Florida, darlings. Besides the issue of sand getting everywhere, all of my visits have been scrupulously virtuous, since I only go to visit my parents, conveniently located one on each coast (Dad's in Palm Beach, and, because the west coast drew the short straw, Mom's in Venice).
There's pretty bits in both areas, but I'm not sure I'll be giving Florida the benefit of my retirement. My beloved talks of Portugal, thanks to House Hunters International.
I've been through many a hurricane here on Long Island, though... the last one - last year - took my electricity for a week.

Sex on the beach here is colloquially known as "playing cement mixers"...yeah - well over rated and spoken of in glowing terms usually by people who haven't done a lot of it.

Yep.
We have some world-class beaches here on Long Island, and like most Long Island girls, I tried it once.
Ouch.
