I can honestly say this is my favorite cover of all time
I moved this to Fa la la la la . I am moving all the music threads here - people are missing them because theyre not altogether and anyway it's messy.

Most people don't even realise this is a cover. It has tobe the all time best.
Prince wroite it and recorded it first, but Sinead made it her own.

And now for something completely different. Australia's favourite lounge singer does Stairway to Heaven as it had never been heard before. (And yes you British/Irish types this IS Bazza MacKenzie)

A cover you just wouldn't expect, Buck Dharma of Blue Oyster Cult doing a version of the Fleetwoods' Come Softly To Me.

I don't know if classic folk songs can count as covers but I adore this and so it's going in...if you object call the admin and report me...oh I am the admin. I'll report meself and deal with me harshly don't you worry.
Fortuitous that, innit?

Just a thought : This thread could be renamed Extraordinary Renditions. It certainly applies to my favourite Oasis cover :

THANKYOU Random that was truly wonderful I chuckled most of the way through it as the muppets are one of my favourite things too. And it was ages since I saw it.

Watch your language! You've got a mouth like a sewer. (I'm fucked if I know where the crude little bastard gets it from.) Nice choice btw....I raised you right that way at least.

I know that strictly speaking Mr. Cash's is the original and the writer's version (Nick Lowe) is the cover, but if you are going to listen to 'Hurt' you have to listen to this as well.
I was on the same bill as Nick Lowe a long time ago, when he was in Brinsley Schwartz, at the Roundhouse. Brinsley Schwartz borrowed my speakers - that's my claim to fame.
