Most scientists CANNOT do science! Its time you people knew the truth. I worked in labs for 6 years and I know what I'm talking about! I spent 9 years at university and got 2 degrees. I KNOW what I'm talking about!!! And sometimes people with degrees are not even that smart. It's all about regurgitating stuff. You go into an exam and regurgitate a whole load of stuff. And a lot of what is taught at university is awhole laod of shite! Like I said in a previous post: data is KING. But time and time again people kill the data if it upsets their day. They think they can do logic but they can't. And people keep getting their kniuckers in a twist about Occam's Razor. BIG BLOODY DEAL. Occam's razor is just another BIAS. As for Chaos Theory... bloody overrated. There you go. Take it from me. I'm unique!

It's not shyte they're taught at Uni Ayze mate - they're indoctrinated into the dogma of the dominant paradigm. They are taught to not argue with the perveived wisdom - to not think outside the box - to not rock the commercial freighter they're on.
And most of the fuckers are dead keen to be indoctrinated too. Good jobs, nice working conditions , lots of social status - hell, what's your soul and your intellectual integrity in comparison to that lot eh?

if the lecturer says that x +y = z then you have to go into the exam and say that x +y = z
rinse repeat, rinse repeat repeat repeat... the next thing you know you've gpot a 1st class degree, you become a lecturer and you tell the next lot that x +y = z
what a bloody shame if x +y does not equal z... but it's too late by then, thousands of people believe that x +y = z and got themselves into massive debt to find out that x +y = z
you cannot simply use logic and data to tell them that x +y does not equal z, because it has become an article of faith for them... it's their new religion... and anyone who challenges it is a HERETIC

you see, there's just no point bringing up certain topics in yahoo Answers... because it's like challenging their RELIGION. They think it's science, but it's actually the new religion.
Or economics... take the Chicago School of Economics. It's just a big racket. They probably don't explain what "money" is or where it came from and what the implications are. The Chicago School of Economics is just fascism. They send their disciples off to south America to advise some fascist dictator.
They are spreading their fascism like a cancer, but they get away with it by calling it the Chicago School of Economics.... and the rich get richer and the poor get poorer... but still we turn to the Chicago School of Economics for "solutions". And where did Obama go to?? The Chicago School of Economics... the new gangsterism. I'm sure Ayn Rand would be proud!

I think that what the Panther is saying that you present links and documentation and then we will read it and draw our own conclusions. Since this isn't a classroom and none of us are having to play the game to get a passing grade here.

I think that what the Panther is saying that you present links and documentation and then we will read it and draw our own conclusions. Since this isn't a classroom and none of us are having to play the game to get a passing grade here. I know, but sometimes you can give people falsifying data and they will still believe something. Or you can give them proof and they will not believe it. I know from experience that I can spot things that other people miss. I did it all through high school and university. I spent 3 years in remedial classes and then went on to get 2 degrees. I've mader at least 2 discoveries and invented a few things. I know that there is a lot of science fraud going on and that fooling the public with "science" is like taking candy off a baby. I worked in a laboratory and had a knack for knowing when something wasn't quite right. I know that if I say everything that I believe then some people will call me an idiot. You can spend a LOT of time and effort giving people the data and the argument but they still won't believe it and they might not even look at it. But if you say to people "just take it from me" then they're not taking it! You can take a horse to water but you cannot make it drink!

Maybe it's just me, but isn't a good part of the OP complaining about people just taking it? I am perfectly capable, and I strongly suspect that many others here are, of disseminating information You could have 10 degrees and I still would tend to want to come to my own conclusion based on the data presented by you and then what I can find on my own.
I am not a sheep to unquestioningly follow anyone.

I am not a sheep to unquestioningly follow anyone. but a certain amount of humility is required in order to change one's mind or be able to see that which is right in front of you... I've changed my mind about a few things in the last few years. If I had been 100% certain of my own infallibility I would never have realised that I was wrong! I might have 2 degrees but I never said how well I did in them. I forget a lot of stuff. I don't have an encyclopeadic memory. I am still capable of great moments of stupidity! I still have one foot in the spastics / learning disability class that I used to be in when i was "dumber" than everyone else.

anyway, as someone who has spent 9 years at uni, 6 years in labs and a lot of time on Youtube... I feel that I have the right to say that most scientists cannot do science.
It is almost impossible to be a 100% real scientist. You have to be very, very OBJECTIVE and most folk (science degree or not) just cannot do that.
