He'll never get the Republican nomination but if he runs as an independent or a Libertarian I will be voting for him "again" just to show my disgust at the puppets the Republicans and Democrats serve up every election.

THEY ALL SUCK GIGANTIC COCK!!!
Every single one of them.
You have to ask, what child is playing with their toys and suddenly decides they want to be a lying, cheating, backstabbing worthless douche? At what age does one make that decision?

Most start out genuinely wanting to help and make things better. No one makes that decision until they've had an actual taste of politics. That could happen as soon as when they get chosen class president.

Somewhere in Ifland...
IF Ron Paul won the GOP Selection process and IF he went ahead and beat Obama and IF he lived all four year (he's like 102 now, innee) of his term....he would be a lame duck President every day of it. Just as Obama will be IF he is victorious.
Because it is and will be even more so after November, a GOP controlled congress.
The GOP loathe Ron Paul and everything he stands for. OK. So they loathe Obama too. But they actually have a fuckton more common ground policy wise with him than they do with Paul. Esp in reference to Foreign Policy and The War on Terror. The big money spinner - for some. Just not the taxpayer.
And it is Congress who will get to run the USA for the next 4 years no matter WHO wins the Presidential Vote.
Oh and Hatter's right re: Paul would be a total disaster for American Disability Pensioners, the frail elderly and the working poor .
Also, his "bring them all home now" policy on the armed services, though one with which I heartily concur, brings with it a massive problem.
The Military Industrial complex is the biggest single employer in the US. As of 30 September 2010, 1,430,895 people were on active duty in the military, with an additional 848,000 people in the seven reserve components.
Two and a quarter million healthy young men and women. Joining the ranks of the unemployed.
And the Arms Industry down the shit chute. The trucking and transport industries which feed off the eternal conflicts the US Armed Forces are there to promote. The manufacturers and suppliers - all shut down.
What happens then? I haven't heard his plan for 2,2 million newly unemployed veterans. Not sure he has one.

Without wishing to cause offense,I wouldn't piss on the man if he was on fire. He's a rich-white-man-only kinda politician. But that's his dirty little secret that only those delving into his private life and his past ever find out. Anyone who names his KID after Ayn Rand...yeah. There's your tip off.

Those unemployed vets will get half pay, unemployment, go to college which is paid for by the military, get a housing alottment as long as they are in school. My nephew getting out of the navy gets all of this. He was the navigator of a submarine for four yrs'. MY other nephew just joined the National Guard, he is specializing in firearms. When he is done with bootcamp he will come home to finish college and then resume training in the National guard. Many kids do this as a way to get their college education, because otherwise they can't pay for it. And the military wants highly trained recruits.

But none of that stuff would get funded if Ron Paul had his way Marisol. He doesn't need an army for his foreign policy because his foreign policy is "butt out and let them get on with it." The proper name for it is Isolationism. He wishes the US to exist in sort of a vacuum where the issues of the world have no sway. Now while I agree you're at present way too intrusive and aggressive a nation, no nation in these times can cut itself off from the rest of the world and flourish. Even China has come to that conclusion.

It might do us good to be isolated for a while. Maybe we could concentate on our own problems for awhile. Istead of being the UN's army everytime someone starts a war. I'm tired of us helping others and being hated for it. The whole damn world judges us by our military, which they beg for when they get in trouble. I would be happy for us to bring all our troops home from everywhere and let all those countries bomb themselves into oblivion. We are not bad people and we get very little credit for what we do, unless its someone saying we didn't do enough or we made horredous mistakes or we are just stupid Amurikans.

At the very least we need to stop starting wars everywhere. Those troops could be put to work rebuilding our infrastructure.

That's right and they wouldn't die in a foreign country that hates us unless we can take a bullet for them.
