Obama's Socialism makes me sick. This from Congressman Steve Stockman conservative Tea Party Republican. Now I understand Ya'll's dislike of some of the things he does, but he is pro-gun. I'm not asking you to like him, just read. The liberals at Time Mag have called him the leader of the Republican Revolution. He has spent several years defeating liberals by helping launch and train the Tea Party. If we overcome Obama's mainstream media cronies, Democrat dirty tricks and his billion dollar campaign we still need never compromise Conservative leaders in Congress to undo his damaging policies.
It makes me ill with anger to see Obama shredding the Constitu- tion, exploiting our debt, bowing down to foreign dictators and plunging this country into European socialism.
Steve Stockman introduced a bill to repeal federal gun control and eliminate background checks, waiting period and registration requirements for firearms nationwide.
I'm not expecting anything in Washington to be perfect. But I expect our president to protect the US and to recognize our enemies. A president should protect our rights, not tear them apart one thread at a time.

sounds like a reasonable guy. In Europe we quite like socialism, it stops Europe becoming a steaming facist shit hole like the US.

Please name the last U.S. President that didn't shred the Constitution. Or the last Congress that didn't.

I keep telling you sweety. Obama is not a socialist
He's a fascist.
The other bloke I don;t know - you have so many Congressmen - and so many fucking laws.
But Obama's a gobshyte I agree...but then so is Romney - and he looks to be a somewhat smarter gobshyte and they're the really bloody dangerous ones .
I dunno what to say - but yeah - hang onto your fucking guns (oopse sorry: I have a foul mouth. I'm Australian. It's all "pass the fucking shrimp" over here, innit?) Because you're gonna need them.
Guns I mean - not shrimp...though shrimp are lovely but they'll do fuck all for you when Barry's Jack Booted Storm Troopers come round yours looking to confiscate your property (he made a law about that too!!)

I have said it a million times but let's go for a million and one. We could elect fucking Big Bird for president and have the same fucking results. The president of the United States is a figurehead for big oil and big pharma. And that is who truly runs this planet.

The expression for it round my parts is "You could elect the drover's dog and the job would still get done the same way."

I have to say when I scratch the surface in any government around the world, they ALL suck, to varying degrees. Europe may think it's freer, but you get below the initial plane and see it's only "free" if you do certain things and have a certain background/skin color. Asia's "clean" but at what cost? And all of the "colonies" suffer from the same symptom: can't get away from their past.
We'd like to think "grass is greener" elsewhere, but it really really isn't. Truly. Ask a Chinese family who emigrated to Canada or Germany. Ask a Somali who ended up in Turkey or the UK...no one's safe anywhere, really.
I think knowledge about where you live and what you're up against is the safest way to navigate the lives we live. If you know what they can get you for, what they can hold over you and what your chances are of surviving the worst may be, you could be better off than most of the "ignorant yet blissfuls" out there...COULD BE with much hanging on to that set of modal verbs...

Of course they all suck, people and power and money are involved. Utopias are even worse though, they are built on the bones of those who didn't fit in and regularly reinforced with the bones of those who are different.

Humans "can't have nice things" because they're animals. Animals go on instinct and for personal gain way more than they don't. Utopias are built on the premise that folks truly want to do what's good and right all the time, because that's the right thing to do. It's bullshit.

I've got mixed feelings on Obama, but he's got my vote as I don't see Romney being any better. I don't like how Obama has supported and expanded a lot of the Bush era assault on liberties in such areas as privacy and detainment. I was really hoping he would repeal the Bush crap. I would like to see him support medical marijuana and take a pro gay marriage stand, though I don't see that happening. As for running up the debt, as painful as it is to see it happening, it is a valid way--and one of the only ways--of fighting a recession. Whether or not it is effective we won't really know for a couple decades. This recession was going to be a nightmare no matter how it was handled--that was pretty plain to see by late '08. I would actually like to see a little more socialism in the US. There seems to be a myth in the US that any bit of socialism will lead directly to a Soviet-like communist nightmare, where we will all be waiting in lines for hours to buy a loaf of bread. The truth is, the US (like most modern nations) is a hybrid of capitalism and socialism. It's not going to kill us to move the dial one way or another on certain issues. And seeing that the US pays about 2x per capita for health costs for only average services, compared to the rest of the 1st world (all of which have universal coverage), I think it is time to reconsider our private pay health care system. Did you know that medical costs are the #1 cause of personal bankruptcies? As someone who works with low-income people, providing case management and mental health services, I see every day how inadequate our social safety net is. Obama at least is more likely to support that then any of the Repubs are. In '09 when the economy was tanking, Obama stepped up and increased the federal funding match to Medicaid. I'm pretty sure my company would be out of business if he hadn't done that. As for gun control, I've got some pretty mixed feelings on that, especially after the Martin/Zimmerman mess down in Florida. I think some level of control is a good idea. And I'm not anti-gun at all. I used to be on rifle team back in high school, and a good friend of mine has a massive gun collection that I helped him transport across the country. Almost got arrested for it in Ohio too (he did get arrested), because his concealed pistol permit was good in New York but not in Ohio. It all got cleared up eventually though. Oh yeah, and I disagree with just about everything the Tea Party says. But hey, that's just me. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, wrong though it may be
